sessions and classes

Introduction to Pilates: Required for all new clients to learn the beginner and foundation work for mat and the universal reformer.

Sessions offered: Most sessions use the various apparatus including the universal reformer. We always include mat work as it is the foundation for all the exercises.

Private session (one person)
Duet class/Semi private (two people)
Trio class (three people)
Group class (4 people)

Mat classes: These classes are strictly mat work. They are group classes and can exceed 4 people. You can zoom in for a class as well. RRP encourages learning and practicing the mat work, it is the foundation, and you can do it anywhere outside of the studio. Pilates was created to be a movement system for a regular daily/weekly stretching and strengthening practice. Your body and mind will thank you if you incorporate this regularly into your day/week. At home practice is where a lot of good things happen. In the studio you are learning, then go practice it. I provide at home videos to continue your practice at home.

How does it work with booking a session or class? And what are the different types of sessions?

At Renee Risley Pilates a classical Pilates studio we will find the right session or group session for you once you have completed the Introductory Package of 3 One on One (Private) sessions. Book your Intro Session here.

What is a Private session?
A Private session is one on one to address your body and the goals and needs you have. Private sessions teach you exactly how the exercises should be executed to maximize your results. You will work on all the apparatus in the studio to lengthen, open the shoulders, elongate the spine all while building strength and flexibility from your powerhouse, it allows us to work on modifications or progressions and gives the client a deeper understanding of the powerhouse connection to meet your needs and personal goals. We encourage this session type in combination with group sessions. We like to make sure all clients are doing mat, reformer, tower, chairs, barrels and all the other apparatus in the studio

What is a Duet class/Semi Privaate?
A Duet session is a class with two people.  In a duet you can still find personal attention to teach you deeper understanding and assistance in the work, and to address your body and the goals and needs you have in movement while building strength and flexibility. This is where you get to practice what you learned in your Private session, and progress. When looking for a duet session we will match you with an appropriate partner. You can also bring your friend, or loved one to enjoy the practice of Pilates and discover the Pilates movement system together. We like to make sure all clients are doing mat, reformer, tower, chairs, barrels and all the other apparatus in the studio

What is a Trio class?
A Trio session is a class with three people.  In a trio you be enjoying practice of movement, strength, flexibility and all the benefits of Pilates using various apparatus in the studio. We like to make sure all clients are doing mat, reformer, tower, chairs, barrels and all the other apparatus in the studio. This is a group class.

Group class: These are your 4 people classes. They become your tribe as you progress together and enjoy the benefits of Pilates. Strengthening, stretching, increased mobility, flexibility, correct posture, improved balance, elongated spines and so much more.
